Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar to Guptkashi (207 km | 7-8 Hours)

Your spiritual quest begins with an early morning pick-up from Haridwar. As the vehicle leaves the plains, you enter the winding mountain roads of the Garhwal region. The route snakes alongside the sparkling Mandakini River, offering glimpses of terraced farms and distant peaks. You arrive in Guptkashi, a town synonymous with ancient legends, where Lord Shiva supposedly stayed hidden for a time. After checking into your hotel, visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple, an architectural marvel housing a half-male, half-female idol of Shiva and Parvati. Enjoy a peaceful dinner and rest well to prepare for the trekking day ahead.

Day 2: Guptkashi to Kedarnath via Gaurikund (30 km Drive + 18 km Trek)

The day starts with a drive to Sonprayag, followed by a local shuttle to Gaurikund, the gateway to the trek. Gaurikund serves as the base where Goddess Parvati reportedly performed penance. You then begin the 18-kilometer ascent to the Kedarnath Temple. Whether you trek on foot, hire a pony, or take a palanquin, the route rewards you with stunning vistas of waterfalls and alpine meadows. Upon reaching the top, the sight of the 1,000-year-old temple against the backdrop of the massive Kedarnath Dome will leave you breathless. Check into your guest house and join the evening Aarti for a truly ethereal experience.

Day 3: Kedarnath to Rudraprayag (18 km Trek + 75 km Drive)

Rise before dawn for a special “Abhishek” or early morning Darshan to witness the temple in its most serene state. After soaking in the divine energy, begin your descent back to Gaurikund. The downhill trek feels easier on the lungs but requires steady footing. At Gaurikund, your driver awaits to take you to Rudraprayag. This town marks the holy confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. The evening offers a perfect opportunity to sit by the riverbank and reflect on your journey before an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.

Day 4: Rudraprayag to Badrinath (155 km | 6-7 Hours)

After breakfast, you head deeper into the mountains toward Badrinath. The drive passes through Joshimath, a significant town established by Adi Shankaracharya. As you reach Badrinath, situated at 3,133 meters, the landscape shifts to stark, majestic mountain faces. Before entering the temple, pilgrims traditionally take a dip in the Tapt Kund, a natural hot water spring on the Alaknanda bank. Visit the Badrinath Temple to pay homage to Lord Vishnu. If time permits, explore Mana Village to see the Saraswati River origin and the caves where the Mahabharata was allegedly composed.

Day 5: Badrinath to Haridwar (294 km | 10-11 Hours)

The final day involves a long but scenic drive back to Haridwar. You will stop at Devprayag, the most important of the five confluences, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge into the Ganga. It is a stunning visual contrast of turquoise and muddy waters. Continuing through the foothills, you pass through the yoga capital of Rishikesh. Your journey concludes in the evening as we drop you at the Haridwar Railway Station or your hotel, carrying home a heart full of blessings and memories of the majestic Himalayas.
